The shooting of Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s highly ambitious project Laal Singh Chaddha was halted due to the coronavirus lockdown. Before that, the cast and crew of the film had completed shooting in Chandigarh, Manali, Kerala and Jaisalmer. They were to shoot for two pending schedules in Delhi and Ladakh. However, given the rising tensions between India and China post their clash at Galwan Valley, the filmmakers have decided to cancel the Ladakh schedule.

“Given the current scenario, shooting in Ladakh is out of the question. So, Aamir, Advait and the top brass at the studio are considering shifting the venue to Kargil. The final call will be taken in the coming weeks,” Mid-Day quoted a source as saying.

Meanwhile, considering the film has completed only 60 per cent shooting, it might push its original release date, which was Christmas 2020, to April 2021. The team had earlier planned to reveal a teaser of Laal Singh Chaddha on Diwali. But due to the coronavirus scare, the unit is uncertain when the shooting will resume.

Laal Singh Chaddha is the official remake of Tom Hanks-starrer Hollywood film Forrest Gump. It follows the title character who finds himself at the center of some of the most influential moments of the country’s history. Not many details are known about Aamir’s Hindi version apart from several unconfirmed reports suggesting that a sequence will also see him recreate the Delhi anti-Sikh riots of 1984.

Kareena plays the lead role in the movie, with Mona Singh and Vijay Sethupathi also joining the cast in pivotal roles. Laal Singh Chaddha is directed by Secret Superstar fame Advait Chandan.

Comedian-actor Vir Das on Wednesday went down memory lane and recalled working in the film Delhi Belly, which was released nine years ago on this day.

“9 years since this madness dropped. Still some of the most fun and hardest work I’ve ever seen done on a film. Whenever an idea I’m working on seems too outrageous or crazy, I remind myself that ‘Delhi Belly’ exists, was made, and was watched,” Vir wrote.

He shared a still from the movie, which also featured his co-actors Imran Khan and Kunaal Roy Kapur. Delhi Belly follows the story of three struggling roommates, who unknowingly become potential prey of a ruthless gangster.

Directed by Abhinay Deo, Delhi Belly was pitched as an adult comedy. Imran’s maternal uncle Aamir Khan was one of the co-producers of the movie.

The film received high praise from critics for its bold and clutter breaking content. It was a commercial success as well, as the storyline, performances and music impressed the audience. Composed by Ram Sampath, songs like ‘Bhaag DK Bose’, ‘Switty’ and Badardi Raja’ were extremely popular.

Besides performing as a stand-up comedian, Vir Das occasionally stars in films. He was last seen in the Netflix movie Hasmukh.

However, Javed has now clarified in an interview that he was not selling vegetables on the cart to make a living but was simply making videos to motivate people and make them understand that ‘no job is small’.

About the videos that went viral on social media and showed him selling vegetables, Javed told a website, “I am not selling vegetables. I am an actor by profession and currently because of lockdown, I am not doing anything. As an actor to keep myself busy and occupied I started making musical videos on an App. My daughter was using that App and she encouraged me to make some videos.”

He added, “Today, with God’s grace I don’t have any monetary issues, but if at all it happens in future I won’t shy from selling vegetables as no job is small.”

Javed has worked in films like Baabarr, Ghulam and TV soap Jeannie Aur Juju. In 2017, he featured in Hindi drama film Life Ki Aisi Ki Taisi.
