MADURAI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was the special guest at the Avaniyapuram jallikattu event in Madurai district of Tamil Nadu on Thursday.
Rahul arrived in Madurai in a special flight from New Delhi and was welcomed by Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president K S Alagiri, Puducherry chief minister V Narayanasamy and Virudhunagar MP Manickam Tagore.
Tight security arrangements were made at the jallikattu venue.
Rahul Gandhi watched the traditional bull-taming event with other leaders including DMK youth wing secretary Udhayanidhi Stalin. While Rahul Gandhi wore a mask, Udayanidhi was seen without one.
It was announced that two motorcycles would be given on behalf of Rahul Gandhi for the best bull tamer and best bull.
