Fan clubs have been sharing photos of Ranveer Singh trying out costumes for his character Murad in Gully Boy.

Gully Boy took Bollywood by storm when it released in early 2019. The film managed to impress viewers with its story of Murad, an aspiring rapper from the slums of Dharavi, played by Ranveer Singh. It opened up the world to the underground rap scene in Mumbai.

Ranveer nailed it in the role of Murad and his were true to his character. It took a lot of detailing to get his look right for the de-glam role. Photos from the costume fitting for Murad’s character have surfaced on social media, showing what went into making Ranveer look the part.

The costume designer shared the photos on social media and fan clubs have been circulating them. In one of the photos, we can see Ranveer dressed in a blue striped hoodie with green cargo pants and shoes. In another photo, the actor can be seen smiling as he dons another outfit for Murad’s role.

The Zoya Akhtar film managed to receive an overwhelming response across the globe. From the Berlin International Film Festival to other events, Gully Boy was hailed everywhere. It was also India’s official entry to the Oscars 2020. Ranveer also rapped in the film and songs Apna Time Ayega and Mere Gully Mein became cult hits.

Popular South actor Samantha Akkineni celebrated her birthday in quarantine recently. While her husband actor Naga Chaitanya baked a cake for the occasion, the whole team of The Family Man arranged a video call to celebrate the special day.

She also received a big box of chips to serve as one month’s supply. The endearing gift came from Upasana Kamineni, wife of actor Ram Charan. It looks like the Oh! Baby actor was craving some snacks amid the lockdown and her friend came to her rescue.

Samantha posted an Instagram story thanking Upasana for the gift. She wrote, “Ha ha @upasanakaminenikonidala Thank you so much.. can’t believe you remembered that I have a ‘chips’ problem. One month supply of chips. I love you”.

In the picture, Samantha can be seen staring lovingly at the chips as her pet dog Hash peeks over in excitement.

Samantha and Upasana are close friends and have previously worked before. The actor featured in a B Positive Magazine interview with Upasana and also appeared in a photo shoot for the same.

Arjun Kanungo lost his father to cancer on Wednesday night. The singer-composer took to his social media to share the unfortunate news with a heartfelt note.

He shared a throwback picture of himself sitting in his father’s lap and captioned it, “Until we meet again Dad. Rest in peace.”

The sad news came a few hours after the death of actor Irrfan Khan.

As per media reports, Arjun’s father was battling Stage 4 Liver cancer. Arjun’s industry colleagues poured in condolences. Singer Darshan Raval wrote, “I pray that his soul rests in peace. Stay strong brother.” Singer Jonita Gandhi wrote, “Arjun. My love and prayers are with you and the whole fam. May he rest in peace.” Composer Vishal Mishra wrote, “Bhai I pray that his soul rests in peace. All my prayers with you!”

Arjun is known for his songs such as Baaki Baatein Peene Baad, Aaya Na Tu and Hona Chaida. The 29-year-old singer will be making his Bollywood debut in Salman Khan starrer Radhe. He has studied acting in Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute: Method Acting School in New York, USA, and says that getting this opportunity is “stuff of the legends” for him. “I haven’t been so excited about something in a long time. To work on a project as big as this and with megastars like Salman bhai is a dream come true. I haven’t been able to sleep on most nights since we started filming (laughs).”
